Years (3/4) and (5/6) - Quad Kids Athletics County Finals Competition

Thursday 11th July 

Our top athletes from Years 4, 5 and 6 attended this most prestigious event at the International Athletics Stadium in Bedford.  To qualify for the County Finals, Chantry had to be placed in the top two schools in the Luton Quad Kids event where we completed against twenty four other local schools.  Both our teams were outstanding and their excellent performances were rewarded with second places.  The teams include four girls and four boys who perform four events as a team.  The events are a sprint, a long distance run, a howler throw and the standing long jump.

All our athletes are continually working to improve their performances during P. E. lessons and after school athletics clubs and as a result of their commitment to achieve and determination they performed brilliantly.  Six other schools were participating in each of the year group competitions, each school bringing the best of the best to compete.  We were extremely proud to achieve not one but two first places so these sixteen children are the County Champions in this event and received a Gold medal each!  An amazing achievement.

It was an absolute pleasure to support these children at this event and really see them flourish individually and as a team, bringing all their skills together in such a high quality event.  We are all very proud of them!
