Year 6 Land & Wave adventure!

Friday 7th July-Monday 10th July 2017

Year Six had an enthralling adventure this past weekend when they made the journey down to Swanage to spend the weekend taking part in a whole range of exciting activities organised by the amazing Land and Wave team!

Setting off early on the Friday morning, the children arrived in Swanage around 11am, taking in the breath-taking views that their accommodation had to offer (an awesome view over Swanage Bay!). After unpacking and having a spot of lunch, the children leapt straight into activities, with the first being coasteering (exploring the coastline by clambering up the cliff faces, jumping into the sea and adventuring into sea caves!). This was one of the children's favourite activities over the course of the weekend.

Friday evening saw everyone team-building, participating in lots of fun and puzzling tasks that encouraged team-work, communication and resilience. That evening, it certainly didn't take long for the children to nod off!

Over the next few days, children took part in lots more 'WOW' sessions, including kayaking in the sea (on a wonderfully sunny day), raft-building  (and then raft sailing....some rafts were more successful than others!), orienteering around beautiful Swanage, fire lighting, archery, paddle boarding, hiking, a visit to Corfe Castle, crabbing, beach games and even a ride on a real steam train! The whole experience was simply brilliant from start to finish.

It was clear that the children had a truly memorable time, and in the process, showed the most amazing values of determination, friendship, resilience, humour and harmony-terrific work everyone!
