Year 6 - Cornish pasty making
Monday 10th February 2020
This week year 6 have had the pleasure of creating their own Cornish pasties as this has linked to our class text ‘The White Horse of Zennor’. The children were provided with a selection of vegetables: carrots, onions, potatoes, garlic, swede and peas. After a thorough safety talk, they were tasked with peeling and chopping them up into small pieces. Lots of discussion was had, especially about the best way to use the potato peeler. Once this was complete, they rolled their pastry and cut out the circles. After carefully filling their pastry with their ingredients they were placed in the oven.
The children showed harmony and teamwork throughout the task and were always so supportive of each other. All the teachers were so proud of them. We hope they enjoyed eating them as much as they enjoyed making them.
