Year 5 visit Affinity Water
Tuesday 25th April 2017
To kick-start Year 5's learning on the water cycle and water usage, they headed to Watford today to the local Affinity Water Centre. Whilst there, they took part in a range of water themed investigations where they filtered dirty water; looked at what could and could not be flushed down a toilet (!) and also looked at the chemicals that can pollute water. They had a tour of the water treatment plant and saw first hand how water is cleaned before being pumped to our homes before finally taking part in a quiz to work out how much water is used for everyday activities.
Without a doubt, the pupils were H20 experts by the end of the visit!
