Today we visited Whipsnade Zoo for our Year 2 WOW day. The visit was to accompany our learning around how humans impact and affect our environment and the things that live in it. We looked at endangered species and the factors that lead them to become extinct. We took part in a fantastic workshop with the Whipsnade team, where the children explored how some animals are hunted for trophies, hunted as sport and even killed to make their skins and body parts into medicines. Also, looking at how we can help stop some of these awful traditions from happening in the future.
The children's behaviour was amazing, and we are looking forward to writing about this fascinating experience!
