VI - Thinkerbell 'Annie' Braille machine

The visual impairment provision are very excited to be receiving an Annie braille machine all the way from India this term. The children in the VI provision were involved in the testing of this braille machine back in November 2018. Mrs Drummond made links with the company Thinkerbell, who are based in India.

Thinkerbell created the Annie; an electronic teaching device named after Helen Keller’s Braille tutor. The idea behind Annie is that larger classes of pupils in India can learn Braille quickly and interactively with the need for only one braille teacher and access to the machines. The Thinkerbell team are really hoping this will lead to the wider use of Braille machines across India. Shivam and Dilip from Thinkerbell will be visiting us this term to help us set up Annie.
