Year 5 Fantastic Finish

Year 5 had a super Fantastic Finish where friends and parents were invited to join us in designing and painting our batiqs. The children had already designed their picture previously, applying all their knowledge of the Hindu customs of alpana and rangoli patterns which linked to our book this term Rickshaw Girl. The children were helped to draw their patterns onto fabric. Wax crayons were then applied to areas where we wanted to repel the paint. The rest of the fabric was then painted. They turned out amazing. Our batiqs will now be mounted onto a wooden dowling frame to hang in the classes.
