Year 2 WOW - Walton on the Naze
Thursday 8th June 2017
Year 2 went to Walton on the Naze as the WOW to start their learning all about the coast. We had an absolutely amazing day, the weather was fine although a little windy, and the behaviour of the children was brilliant.
After a long journey (well worth it) the children walked down the long pier, had our year group photograph, then strolled back for the long awaited for ice cream!
We were so lucky as the lifeboat which is not always stationed at Walton now was actually there, so we had the opportunity of seeing it close up!
To finish of our super day the children played on the beach and paddled in the sea. The smiles and laughter from all the children made it all worthwhile for the brave staff who stayed in the water with the children!
After a long journey home, very tired children were delivered safely back to their parents with lots of exciting news to tell.
Our unit book is called The Lighthouse Keeper`s Lunch, Mr Grinling the main character is the lighthouse keeper and has lots of adventures around the sea.
